Can I View Information About A Specific Tour?
Yes, but you must be a registered tour participant to do so. Registering online is easy; simply get the ONLINE REGISTRATION LINK from your school or our office. You can contact our office via phone or Email: tours@datours.com
Can a Person stay longer or arrive earlier than the rest of the group?
Absolutely! However, any deviations from the group travel plans requires the participant to travel “Land Only”. Simply indicate this choice at the time of registration. The cost of the group airfare will be deducted from your tour. If the “Land Only” option becomes necessary after the time of Registration, simply contact our office as soon as possible for options can be explained (may incur a change fee).
What kind hotels do we use?
All the hotels we use are a minimum 3-star hotel. We generally stay at nationally known chains. Typical brands include: Holiday Inn, Marriott, Hyatt, and Hilton family of brands.
How are Rooming Details Established?
The group leader/teacher makes all decisions regarding rooming and roommates. Typically, Jr. High and older students share rooms with other students (4 to a room, 2 beds) and the adults share rooms (2 to a room, 2 beds). Private rooms can be requested for adults at an additional fee.
What is included with the purchase price?
All group transportation (motorcoach/ferry), Lodging, Most meals (typically breakfasts and dinners), Group Admissions*, Tips for meals and bus driver. (*Any optional admissions during free time are not included).
Is Airfare included in the tour price?
In most cases, the initial tour price does not include airfare. However, once airfare becomes available, the airfare is added as the final 2 payments. Please refer to Tour Summary Page for payment details.
Why do I need to make payments rather just pay all at once before the trip?
You are free to make one payment, however that would need be done at the time registration. The tour needs be paid using the payment schedule in order for various portions of the tour to be paid to our vendors in advance of the tour.
What type of payment do you accept?
We accept payments via Mail (Check or Money Order), In-Person (Cash, Check, or Money Order), and the Internet via PayPal (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express). If you have any questions about this, please contact our office.
I am concerned about personal information being shared over the Internet
We totally understand your concern. Please know that all financial information is retrieved and stored via Security methods which are extremely secure. We do accept checks and money orders if this works better for you. Non-financial information is stored on a Secure Server as well.
Do you offer Tour Insurance?
Discover America does not offer tour insurance, commonly referred to as “Trip Insurance” or “Cancellation Insurance”. However, we can recommend companies that step in an fill that need should you choose to purchase this option: Travel Guard, Trip Insurance, and Insure My Trip. Each company has it’s own rules, regulations, and exceptions. Please contact them directly for more information.
Do you require participants to have Health Insurance?
Yes. However if you do not have a policy, you can purchase a short-term policy just for the length of the tour. Some of the companies that offer Trip Insurance also have Medical Only policies.
Can I Cancel after I register?
Yes, there are exceptions as to how much can be refunded. Beyond the Deposit (which is non-refundable), all “spent” funds toward the tour are not refundable (up to 75% of the tour outside of 30 days prior to the tour). There is no refund within 48-hours of the tour. Please contact our office for more information.
